Student Use of Materials on Reserve

The Library uses the E-Res software package from Docutek, Inc. to place journal article and book chapter course reserves online.  The software is web-based and can be accessed from the Library home page.  The software also allows links to websites and e-books that instructors require for their students. The Electronic Reserve System can be accessed from any web browser from the Library home page or by going directly to:  http://libres.dmz.rpslmc.edu

Each course is given a unique password for students.  This password must be entered by the student in order for them to retrieve material.  By entering the password into the system, the student is agreeing to copyright provisions.

The Library places books and selected old exams on reserve for classes at the request of faculty members. Students may check out books and old exams at the Library Service Desk for use in the Library.

Students may also check out reserve audiovisual materials at the METC Service Desk.

To obtain call numbers, titles or bibliographies of book and audiovisual course reserves, use the Library's online catalog (RushCat) as follows:

  • In Keywords, type in the word Reserve and either the course number (e.g. Nur 301), course name or instructor's name.
  • For more assistance with audiovisual reserves, ask at the METC Service Desk or call (312) 942-6799.
